Mark joined was appointed Chief Executive of the Central Office of Information (COI) in Feburary 2009. Previously Mark was CEO of Delaney Lund Knox Warren (DLKW), and remains Chairman, and was also Chairman of the Advertising Association. 

The COI is the government body that is responsible for planning and buying advertising, marketing and communication on behalf of almost every Whitehall department from the NHS to the British Army. In 2009 the COI overtook the consumer goods giant Procter & Gamble to become the single biggest advertiser in the UK, as government increasingly looked to influence citizens' behaviour on issues such as obesity, binge drinking and sexual health. The COI has had some very successful campaigns and was recently named not only "Advertiser of the Year" but also "Advertiser of the Decade" by Campaign magazine.

Jonathon joined John Lewis in October 2009 to drive forward the johnlewis.com business plan. He is accountable for the online P&L and drives the online strategy, marketing and fulfilment of the thriving online business. He is also key in driving the integration of the site into the rest of the companies operations and ensuring John Lewis maintains its position as a leading multi channel retailer.

Prior to John Lewis Jonathon was Director of Multi Channel at B&Q where his accountabilities included the companies Multi Channel strategy, the development of diy.com and the extension of B&Q Home Delivery and Reserve & Collect propositions. In addition to leading the company's CRM, online and direct marketing functions. 

Before B&Q Jonathon was Head of eChannels for Aviva looking after online marketing and site development for their portfolio of brands including RAC, Norwich Union and BSM. Jonathon joined Aviva from Coca Cola where he drove the European Marketing strategy, delivering a portfolio of brand and FMCG campaigns, Jonathon joined from British Airways where he spent 5 years as a senior member of the British Airways marketing team. His roles at BA included leading the re-launch ba.com and a number of marketing roles.

Previously Craig was with LOVEFiLM for 4 years as Product Manager - Digital and Usability, prior to which he spent 6 years as Usability and E-Commerce consultant for John Lewis.

Dominic began his marketing career in 2001 with Unilever, where he completed the marketing graduate scheme and held a variety of brand management roles such as Lux Brand Manager and Dove Hair Brand Manager.

He moved to BT in 2005 to become Head of Marketing - Broadband Acquisition, where he successfully re-launched the broadband proposition, countering the threat of free broadband from Carphone Warehouse. Won BT Young Marketer of the Year and Marketing Society Young Marketer of the Year 2007 for the achievements in this role.

He then held various positions at agencies (Managing Director - The Disruption Consultancy at TBWA, Global Business Integration Director at Grey Global Group, Global Account Director at Imagination) before becoming Chief Executive Officer within WPP at Wunderman. 

John's specialties are marketing, both above and below the lines, and digital marketing communications. He has enormous experience and knowledge in consumer insight (qualitative and quantitative) and product/service innovation.

He has a BS in Marketing, MBA in Finance & Decision Science from Tulane University and has been doing some post-grad at Stanford in Customer-centered Innovation.

Tom's data-driven insights and mult-channel remit put him in the perfect position to understand channel dynamics and the impact of marketing across online and offline.

Louise is group marketing director at Incisive Media and has been with the company in various senior marketing positions for the past 8 years. 

She has overall responsibility for the company's centralised marketing function, including the telesales, renewals, customer service, database, list research, audience development, product and event marketing teams. The international team is responsible for delivering 30% of company revenues and manages a portfolio of over 100 B2B magazines, newsletters and online products and 600+ events in the risk management, capital markets, insurance, investment, IT, legal and private equity markets.

Louise is a board memeber of UK Specialist Information Publishers Association and sits on the IDM Digital Council. Previously she has been chairman of the PPAi and an AOP board member. She is a regular speaker at events. Before finding her natural home in B2B media, she worked at Pearson Education for 3 years as a books marketer.

Simon Morris graduated from the European Business School in 1987 and began his career at Lintas Worldwide advertising agency in the early 90’s.  He moved to become Marketing Manager at Virgin Games, and subsequently UK Marketing Director of SEGA in the early 90’s.  In 1994 he became Consumer Marketing Director of BSkyB for 2 years, and then remained in television as Managing Director of Ginger Television Productions.  During this time his own consultancy firm helped Lego Media break into international television and also provided marketing for the launch of Autonomy in 1997.  From 1998-2001 he was a co-founder of the dot.com content super brand 365 Corp.  He was involved in the creation and subsequent UK launch and further International development of LOVEFiLM from the outset.

In 2008 he was a founding investor in www.graze.com and remains a non exec director.   He is married with 3 children and lives in West London.

Jim Clear heads up Argos’ multi-channel marketing and trading team and has been with the Argos multi-channel/ecommerce team since 2003. Jim’s current role includes promoting its multi-channel offering via search and affiliate marketing, online advertising, social media and email marketing as well as improving conversion and sales once customers reach the Argos website. Argos is the most visited online high street retailer in the UK and generated £1.4bn of online sales in its last financial year (2009/2010), which represented 32% of total Argos sales, up from £1.1bn and 26% respectively in the previous year. Prior to his time at Argos, Jim has worked in a variety of other marketing and buying roles in the retail sector, including nearly six years at Dixons Stores Group.

Tim joined Best Western after delivering great results for previous employers including DFS, Alliance & Leicester and Phones4U. The challenge at Best Western is fascinating, taking a group of independent hotels that are perceived as tired and dated and making the brand relevant and compelling to today’s consumer. With the launch of ‘Hotels with personality’ in 2010 the brand made significant leaps forward backed up by real commercial results. Tim is leading the cutting edge use of CRM, data insight, customer journey development, digital and social media to deliver significant improvements in performance and a culture change within Best Western.  

Best Western Great Britain is part of Best Western International, the world's largest hotel chain. The organisation was founded in the US in 1946 and is now represented in 80 countries around the world. Today, Best Western has over 270 hotels in the UK and over 4,000 worldwide. Shilen Patel has over 15 years experience in consumer goods marketing. During that time he has operated client side (ex Marketing Controller for Guinness in Ireland), and as a freelance consultant working with some of the biggest brands in the world. More recently Shilen moved over to the agency world and is now running his own marketing agency - Independents United with creative partner Frank Lampen.

Across all these roles Shilen has sought to bring good strategic thinking, consumer understanding and awareness of new trends together in order to develop new and more effective ways of marketing.

During the past 4 years, Independents United have won work from some of the world's biggest brands and helped them step change their ability to engage and communicate with consumers all over the world. Projects for brands as wide ranging as Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker, CNN and Kelkoo have demonstrated IU's ability to drive significant return on investment through a heady mix of good strategy, insightful creativity and innovative marketing. IU has also leveraged the entrepreneurial streak in all its employees to launch a number of its own ventures including the world's first consumer-generated book called Festival Annual. Shilen has also begun to bring to life his vision that marketing can be a powerful force for good through IU partnerships with RockCorps and Cancer Research.

Tom is Marketing Manager at Incs² Brands which is part of Unilever and includes the followig brands: Bovril, Marmite, Pot Noodle, Peperami and Slimfast. Tom has been at Unilever almost six years, participating in Unilever’s graduate training program before spending a number of years in sales. He has been working on the Marmite brand for almost a year now, including some very successful initiatives like the "Marmarati" - a clandestine club built around the launch of Marmite XO.

As part of this role Bian sets the strategy for and manages BT's social media channels for customer service branded as BTCare offering service through Twitter, the BT Community forums and YouTube.

Steven Van Belleghem is Managing Partner of innovative research agency InSites Consulting. His passion is helping clients in taking strategic marketing decisions. Steven is specialized in branding, advertising and word-of-mouth strategies. Before Steven joined InSites Consulting, he was a researcher at the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School. Belinda is responsible for the day-to-day running of the IPA TouchPoints project and the implementation of TouchPoints 2. In addition to the TouchPoints Initiative Belinda also works on all aspects of the IPAMedia Research remit. Prior to joining the IPA in January 2007, she was Director of Broadcast Services at Telmar Communications where one of her key responsibilities was the development of the TouchPoints analysis software. Belinda has also held senior research roles within the broadcast industry and media agencies. She is a past Chairman of the UK Media Research Group.

Simon joined Ogilvy in 1995 as one half of the first interactive creative team to ever be employed in a UK above-the-line agency.  There, he created award-winning online work for Guinness, Unilever and Hoover. Simon joined Circus Communications in 1999 where he continued to meld conventional and non-conventional media on projects for the BBC and Levis. In 2000 Simon joined RKCR/Y&R as a Creative Partner of an in-house interactive agency where he produced successful campaigns for the COI, Learn Direct, Land Rover, The Sunday Times, Virgin Atlantic, and Virgin Media. In May 2007 Simon launched Saint@RKCR/Y&R with his creative partner David Gamble. In just 3 years the company has grown from 4 to 60, and now boasts an impressive list of clients such as The BBC, Virgin Atlantic, and Lloyds TSB.

Lennart Boorsma joined Heineken in 2003. He started out in Brand Management for the Heineken brand in the Netherlands. In this job he introduced the Heineken Draught Keg to the Dutch market and developed ATL communication as the “Pathfinder” TVC and the thematic campaign “Serving the Planet” aside numerous digital campaigns. Next he moved to work in Heineken Netherlands' soft drinks division as National Account Manager in retail, servicing the two largest Dutch retailers. As of March 2010, he joined the global brand communications team at Heineken International as Digital Manager Heineken.

Anita is Global Research Director at the Financial Times where she has been for almost 15 years. FT.com has over 130,000 paying digital subscribers, up 15 percent year on year and a greater overall reach with more than 2.3 million registered users. FT's iPhone app has had more than 300,000 downloads since it launched in July 2009 and the iPad app has had over 150,000 downloads since the launch in May 2010, and won the Apple Design Award. In her role at the FT, Anita has done a lot of work recently on aggregating online+offline readership in order to understand what they call "ADGA" (average daily global audience).

Since 2006, Martin has been Head of Acquisition at EDF Energy, tasked with generating new customers. EDF Energy is one of the UK’s largest energy companies and a wholly-owned subsidiary of the EDF Group, one of Europe's largest energy groups. EDF Energy generates around one fifth of the UK's electricity, employs 20,000 people, and deliver electricity to 8 million customer homes and businesses.

Previously Martin had various roles at insurance company MORE TH>N (Marketing Planning Manager, eBusiness Consultant) and Royal & SunAlliance (Market Research Manager, Strategy Analyst). 

Martin sits on the IDM Data and Database Marketing Council which was founded in 2004 to provide direction to the IDM and to the marketing profession in general, by demonstrating and communicating the value of data to businesses. The Council comprises recognised data experts, each a specialist in their field from both supplier and client side. Martin also won the IDM Business Performance Awards 2009 in the Data Targeting category.

He says he is "interested in using direct marketing and advertising to build brands and to provide tailored services that delight customers." And he's certainly got a lot of experience of that having been Marketing Director at Otto UK before becoming Marketing Director at Lakeland where he is now bringing his digital and data-driven marketing expertise to a truly multichannel retailer. Previous roles also include: Director of Targeted Marketing at Littlewoods Shop Direct Group, Brand Director at Littlewoods Shop Direct Group, & Head of Marketing Services at GUS Home Shopping.

Simon is the Chief Executive of Euroffice Ltd, an industry leading, fast growing pureplay that sells office products to small businesses. Since joining Euroffice as CEO in October 2007, Simon has introduced a change programme that has restructured the business. With the help of a newly recruited, specialist management team Simon has replaced 100% of the legacy system and application architecture, rebranded and launched a fast growing Italian subsidiary. With revenues of over £24 million, in 2009/10 the business delivered strong, double-digit revenue and triple-digit EBITDA growth. 

Simon has experience of managing large ebusiness teams in billion dollar businesses as well as running smaller, entrepreneurial start-ups. He understands the challenges of trying to blend the different cultures of the on and offline worlds. Prior to Euroffice, Simon was Head of Online & Telesales at T-Mobile where he was accountable for their direct channels. As well as triple digit online sales & service growth he also sponsored a pan European project that culminated in the complete replacement of T-Mobile’s online web architecture/infrastructure. Prior to T-Mobile he worked at Orange as the Internet Channel Manager and was responsible for launching the Orange shop™ online.

Michael first started working within the digital industry for publisher Emap back in 1996. Having seen the meteoric growth of the bubble and subsequent deflation, Michael has witnessed many of the highs and lows of the emerging medium. He moved from magazine publishing into national press, to head up the commercial fortunes of the Independent’s digital portfolio, before joining COI back in 2002.

Over the last 8 years Michael has witnessed the huge growth in confidence around the use of digital to engage with UK citizens and has been instrumental in helping government embrace the medium. As Deputy Director of the digital business within COI, Michael is fortunate to be surrounded by a hugely talented pool of digital experts who help maintain COI as digital thought leaders across the public sector.

Michael was former chair of the ISBA Digital Action Group, where he is still a member. He also sits as a member of the IAB Mobile Steering Group.

Robert has over 20 years’ in-house experience working in senior communications and change roles for organisations including Marks & Spencer, Cable & Wireless, GlaxoSmithKline, the BBC and Citigroup. 

Whilst at Marks & Spencer, he played a key role in devising and implementing the internal and external brand and communications strategy for ‘Plan A’, one of the most comprehensive and acclaimed corporate sustainability programmes in the UK.

Conchango, was acquired by EMC Consulting in 2008 and since has firmly established itself as a leading European design agency two years running by Forrester research.

Alex has 9 years marketing experience within the Financial Services sector in both Digital and Integrated marketing disciplines and is currently responsible for Digital Acquisition at Citi in the UK. In 2001 he joined Legal & General and worked across various B2B and B2C marketing functions before concentrating on end to end Digital for Investments and Wealth Management.

In 2008 Alex moved to Citi heading up the Digital Acquisition team and working across all consumer banking products and across both Citi and Egg brands. Earlier this year he developed the digital strategy to add social media elements including the launch of Egg Card on Twitter.

Alex was among the first year’s intake to the IDM’s Integrated Marketing Communications Diploma in 2008 and is also a member of the IDM.

Prior to Neolane, Etienne held numerous senior product and corporate marketing management positions at software industry leaders Oracle and Hyperion. He was most recently Hyperion's Product Marketing Director for the company's Business Intelligence offering in the EMEA region. Prior to his tenure at Hyperion, he served for eight years in various marketing functions at Oracle's headquarters in Redwood Shores, California. There Etienne was lastly Senior Director, Global Marketing Campaigns. In that role, he conceived, launched, and managed two of the vendor's largest marketing campaigns in recent years, "Fusion Middleware" and "Grid Computing". Among his responsibilities in the Oracle corporate marketing team, Etienne was at the time Oracle’s representative at the Direct Marketing Association (DMA), and sat on Google's Technology Advisory Board, which brought together marketers from leading technology companies to help Google refine its offering to technology companies. Travel & directions

The nearest tube station to Old Billingsgate is Monument station on the District & Circle lines; though Monument and Bank stations are interconnected, therefore giving access additionally to the Northern line and the DLR. On exit from Monument station, turn right, and immediately left, walking passed the Monument, along Monument Street. When you arrive on the main road, Lower Thames Street, you will see Old Billingsgate opposite. There is a pedestrian crossing a couple of minutes along on the left.

If you are travelling by rail, London Bridge is around a 15 minute walk away. On arrival at London Bridge, exit onto Borough High Street, and turn right, heading towards the bridge. Walk over the bridge, and take a right at the other side onto Lower Thames Street. You will see Old Billingsgate a few minutes down on the right. Old Billingsgate is also approximately 10-15 minutes away by cab from Waterloo and Blackfriars stations.
