Accipiter Details ITV’s Effective Use of Its Inventory Management Capabilities in a Customer Success Story
LONDON, UK and RALEIGH, NC – January 19, 2005 – Accipiter Solutions, Inc., an online advertising technology leader since 1996, today announced that they have completed a comprehensive case study on ITV’s use of its inventory management system. ITV, the UK’s largest commercial television network, was formed through the merger of two of Britain’s biggest broadcasting companies, Granada and Carlton. ITV.com hosts sites for all the ITV channels and is home to the official web sites for Coronation Street and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. Inventory has traditionally been difficult to manage and predict for ITV. The company no longer wanted to rely on outdated, manual and time-consuming spreadsheets; and wanted to eliminate the need to re-key each campaign. ITV also needed a way to analyze historical inventory data and accurately predict future inventory. Its primary goal is to prevent overselling of inventory especially on popular formats, such as rich media overlays.
ITV made the decision to outsource its ad management, choosing Accipiter’s hosted AdManager to help successfully serve more than 200 million ads per month in a variety of formats including rich media. With the upgrade to hosted AdManager V7, ITV took full advantage of Accipiter’s robust inventory management capabilities.
