Tribal DDB redesigns website to offer consumers a peek into the world of Harvey Nichols

Tribal DDB London, this week, launches the redesigned website for iconic fashion store, Harvey Nichols. harveynichols.com incorporates brand new content, with sections for fashion and beauty key trends for the current season and featured designers. The website also incorporates new functionalities, such as a subscription service to the Harvey Nichols newsletter, HNews.

Julie Bowe, Marketing Director at Harvey Nichols, comments, “Tribal DDB’s strategy was to develop a deeper user experience by using online features to create a desire to visit the store. Tribal has designed the site with a Content Management System so we can regularly update the content - encouraging repeat visits and building a relationship with our online visitor. We’re really pleased with the integrated off and online approach to the design, imagery and experience, as it draws consumers into the Harvey Nichols brand and ultimately into the stores.”

As an integrated approach to the design of the site, Tribal DDB has incorporated drawings done by illustrator, David Bray, who has created work for Harvey Nichols’ press advertisements. These illustrations have been brought to life in Flash creating stylish animations that work as headers at the top of each page.

“These illustrations give us a peek into the exclusive world of Harvey Nichols,” explains Victoria Buchanan, Associate Creative Director at Tribal DDB. “The website is understated with a simple classic black and white design which allows the fashion content be the main focal point. The structure of the site is now more open, which allows more flexibility as the site evolves. With an improved navigation, visitors can now easily move through the site, ensuring no dead ends.”

The new website replaces the previous site that Harvey Nichols had had since December 2000.
