Be The Boss uses a unique scoring system and is the only mobile service using the OPTA index, the official team and player performance stats for the Premiership. Advertisements for the game will carry a joincode which consumers send via SMS text to a short code. They then receive a message back with a password and URL. On the website they log-in using their mobile number and password and then can select their team, starting by selecting a formation and then pick a set number of defenders, midfield etc up to the full eleven players. Players can be selected from the English Premiership teams. The team is then saved and can be ‘played’ each round of Premiership games. Each round the player is given the option to play the team in the next competition. It costs ₤1.50 for every team played.
