***Object 1’s Thinking2 methodology enables implementation of Tridion content management solution and new web site***
London, March 3, 2004 - The Royal Society of Chemistry (www.rsc.org), the largest organisation in Europe for advancing the chemical sciences, is using a new formula for the development of its new web site.
Object 1, a leading enterprise content management consultancy, is providing the RSC with a unique Thinking2 methodology to enable the implementation of a new enterprise content management solution from Tridion, and a completely new information architecture for its web site.
The new site will enable hundreds of scientific information providers to manage their own content and will give the scientific community worldwide easier and faster access to information published by the RSC. Caroline Coetzee, the RSC’s Web Team Manager, said: “Our key objectives are to restructure our web site, enhance online content and services and improve general content management across the organisation.”
Tarnya Norse, Object 1’s Business Development Director, said: “Our Thinking2 methodology has provided the RSC with a formula for not only implementing the appropriate content management solution based on real business and user requirements, but also an information architecture for managing and delivering highly complex scientific content in an exciting and compelling new web environment.” Object 1 is currently helping the RSC to scope and implement a pilot project for its new web presence based on content from one of its publications, RSC News. Content from other RSC publications will follow as the RSC starts to migrate content to the new web environment.
Tridion is Europe’s leading Enterprise Content Management solution that enables organisations to create, manage, distribute and deliver content. “With the vast amount of information that is available at the RSC, an efficient content management solution is key,” said Pete Atkinson, public sector manager, Tridion. “We are confident that Object 1’s unique Thinking2 methodology will successfully implement Tridion to significantly enhance and improve the RSC’s web site.”
Caroline Coetzee concluded: “We chose Object 1 as an implementation partner because of its experience in content management solutions, to provide technical implementation and a new information architecture. We chose Tridion R5 because it provides a best fit with our existing infrastructure and has support from consultancies such as Object 1 for implementation. We anticipate having better managed content across the organisation and a completely restructured web site for launch by the end of this year.”
