LB Icon and Framfab announces a merger that will create Europe's Number 1 digital marketing services agency. In the UK, LB Icon Ltd and Wheel, both LB Icon Group companies, will merge with Framfab, bringing together the UK’s market leaders in both design and technology solutions as well as digital marketing communications.

Combined, the new company will now have 350 staff and turnover of circa £40 million, making it larger than many of the UK's biggest traditional advertising agencies. Globally the new company will have a turnover of £100 million with 1,200 staff operating in 10 countries.

This move provides the new entity with an enhanced ability to respond to increasing international client demand for digital marketing services. The companies currently have highly complementary operations, and a blue-chip client base, which will make the new venture market leaders in the UK, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Company cultures are in line with one another as the group’s long-standing track record in the digital space means they all share similar histories and depth of industry experience. The new combined entity will be a truly international, full-service operation that will be attractive to both customers and investors.

Luke Taylor, MD of Framfab UK commented:

“For the first time there is a genuinely credible full service agency that can deliver best in class offerings across a global footprint, and specifically across all the key European markets. Our clients are driving the demand for a single digital agency of record that can provide both centralised strategy and localised delivery. There is additionally a huge opportunity to cross sell our more specialist capabilities in behavioural research, analytics and content provisioning across an enlarged client base.”

Ewen Sturgeon, MD of Wheel, commented:

“This merger means that we are well positioned for growth and to lead the UK market at a time when digital marketing has come of age. Together we can meet our clients’ aspirations for delivering full service digital communications from a truly global perspective. By combining Wheel’s heritage in digital communications and LB Icon’s technical skills with Framfab’s reputation for Web site development, the new company will be able to offer new and existing clients a much broader offering. We’re also excited about the opportunity this will offer our staff to continue to develop their careers on an international level.”

Tony Gale, CEO, LB Icon Ltd said:

“The combination of LB Icon’s technology solutions and Wheel’s creative design and development has already benefited customers in Europe who are looking to implement large-scale Web sites. The merger with Framfab will significantly enhance the scalability of our offering and enable us to provide additional resources and skills that are underpinned by large-scale, robust technology.”
