Customer reviews provider Reevoo has launched its own web offering, gathering together reviews for a range of products with the aim of providing online retailers with valuable traffic.
Up until today Reevoo has only provided reviews for its retail partners' websites, including Dixons, Comet and Orange. The new website will gather all the reviews in one place, providing a useful resource for online shoppers, and lots of search engine fodder for Reevoo.
Genuine customer reviews can have a huge bearing on the purchase decision - Reevoo believes that customers are more likely to trust reviews from an independent source.
Reevoo cites the growth in consumer demand for reliable product reviews, quoting a YouGov survey which found that 92% of UK consumers found genuine reviews helpful when deciding to buy.
So, by providing a range of reviews in one location consumers will be able to visit an independent destination to research purchase decisions. Reevoo will benefit from being able to sending high quality traffic to its retail partners. Sounds like it could pave the way for a move to a cost-per-click model, as per the shopping comparison sites.
At the moment there are no links to retailers to buy products after reading the reviews, but this functionality will be added to the site in the next two weeks.
Reevoo collects its reviews by sending questionnaires to customers who have bought a product from one of its retail partners, and charges retailers for this service.
Reevoo will also be arranging lead-generation agreements with its e-commerce partners across a range of product categories.
The site is nice and easy to use, and already has a wide range of reviews to browse through. Product information is provided along with the list of reviews, and Reevoo has added links to content secured through Yahoo! Search APIs, including Yahoo Answers and links to articles about the product.
Reevoo is privately owned, and raised £2.5m in a first round of funding led by Eden Ventures in December last year.
Well done to Richard and Team Reevoo...
