FeedBurner has acquired the blog analytics provider BlogBeat in an interesting move which can only be described as good news for users.

FeedBurner has become the de-facto choice for understanding feed subscriptions for at least the last 6 months, possibly the last year.

When FeedFlare was launched, the FeedBurner service became even more compelling, and now with the BlogBeat acquisition, it sounds like the statistical picture generated for users will be even more comprehensive.

The FeedBurner blog post can be found here, there is an interview with Steve Olechowski (FeedBurner) and Jeff Turner (BlogBeat) here, and there’s some more (humorous) information at the BlogBeat website as well.
