Each stage of the programme is worth 60 CAT points (recognised internationally) and is designed to be studied on a part-time basis over the course of a year. Subject options are fully flexible, allowing students to pick and mix which areas they wish to study, however, the following table shows the suggested study route as recommended by E-consultancy and Manchester Metropolitan University Business School.

The Masters Programme will be taught through a blend of attendance at E-consultancy training days and self-study, supported by MMUBS. Each of the three modules in Stage 1 and Stage 2 roughly correspond to one academic term. The following is an example schedule for the certification stage (Year 1).

Students will be required to attend 6 days of intensive classroom based training in each of the first two years. Joining E-consultancy courses available through our public course schedule, students will benefit from interacting with individuals from a wide variety of industries and job roles, giving them a unique perspective on the implementation and use of digital marketing techniques.
Courses run throughout the year at centres in London and Manchester, with most being repeated every three to four months. All our courses are led by experienced practitioners and contain a strong element of interactivity. Students will be provided with training materials, including pre-reading, glossaries and, where appropriate, workbooks.
For course outlines and dates, see our course timetable.
In addition to attending the classroom sessions, students will be required to read around their chosen subjects and undertake an assignment for each module of the course, upon which their progress will be assessed. The self-study and assessment elements of the course will be fully supported by MMUBS's online learning environment, where students can contact their dedicated course tutor and interact with each other. Students will also benefit from two course modules designed to give guidance on study methods and preparation for the assessment and dissertation work.
For those taking the full masters qualification, preparation for the dissertation in year three will take place during the Professional and Academic Capability (PAC) module in Stage Two. The dissertation is a consultancy-based piece of work which aims to allow practical exploration of the material studied in the first two stages. Development of the dissertation proposal will be further helped through a brain storming day hosted by E-consultancy which aims to challenge the way you think about digital marketing communications and provide alternative views of the industry and how it is developing.
The dissertation is researched and written over a period of seven months with most students choosing to have contact time with their tutors each week, either online, via telephone or, if desired, face to face.
